She graduated from Ottawa High School and enjoyed her jobs at Anthony Pools were she was a bookkeeper for over 10 years and then at Joshua’s Christian Book Store. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior when she was very young and loved her pastor and church family at Fielder Church in Arlington, TX.
Jan met the love her life, Oliver “Mac” McCarson and they were married a beautiful 46 years before his passing in 2021. Jan missed her sweet husband dearly as she was a faithful wife and mother to their only child, Matthew. They enjoyed vacationing, especially in Hawaii.
Jan was called home peacefully on Dec. 5, 2022 to be reunited with Mac in heaven.
She loved being a grandmother and great grandmother and also enjoyed time with her friends whom she affectionately referred to as the “Pizza Girls”. They met, ate pizza, and discussed prayer request. The “Pizza Girls” met every few weeks and are some of Jan’s dearest friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory; two siblings, Jill Reimer and Fred Brown, her beloved son, Matthew McCarson, seven grandchildren; Maddison McCarson, Jordain McCarson (Angelica Steele), Tyison McCarson, Aleckxus McCarson (Wesley Simmons), Zyrein Selmon, Zahriah Selmon, and Mercedes McCarson, four great grandchildren; Jordynn McCarson, A'treus McCarson, Legend McCarson, and Arabella Simmons, a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and her very special friend Debra Prementer.
Jan was a beautiful spirit and she will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
