Janice Dianne Hazen, 85, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2023 at the hospital in Pearland, Texas. She was born on March 14, 1938 to William C. and Irene M. Gronewold in Gothenburg, Nebraska. Janice grew up and attended school in Eustis, Nebraska where she met the love of her life Virgil K Hazen. They were married on December 16, 1964 and shared 54 years together before his passing in 2018. Janice and Virgil raised 8 children together; she was a homemaker and seamstress. In her free time she enjoyed several hobbies including; sewing, quilting, crocheting, cheering on her Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers, she also loved watching NASCAR. Her true passion was spending time with her family and her sharing memories of the past.
Janice was preceded in death by her beloved husband; Virgil K. Hazen, children; Kurt A. Hazen, Keith D. Hazen; grandson, T.J. Jobin; and son-in-law, Kenneth E. Sisung; parents, William C. and Irene M. Gronewold; brother, Keith W. Gronewold.
Left to cherish her memory; children, Cyndi Brown and husband David, Sheri Jobin and husband Teddy, Vicki Beam and husband Bill, Scott Wear and wife Debbie, Bradley Hazen and wife Tonya, Craig Hazen and wife Korin; 32 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren with 3 more on the way this year; sisters, Mary Beth DeBeck and Joan Campana along with many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Janice will be held Thursday, June 15, 2023 from 10:15 AM to 10:30 AM at Dallas Ft Worth National Cemtery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211.
