James Carl Scheuermann was born Aug 29, 1925, and passed away Nov 11, 2022, at the age of 97. He was born and raised in Dallas, TX and lived there for the greater part of his life. James graduated in 1942, from Crozier Tech High School in Dallas. The following year, 1943, he married Edna Carter.
Later in that same year he enlisted in the armed forces and served during World War II in the Army Air Corps, later to become the US Air Force. His military tour of duty was in India. That war-time assignment would prove to be the source of many wonderful stories he would share with family and friends in the years that followed.
Once the war concluded he returned home to rejoin his wife in Dallas. There they started a family while he began a long career of employment with International Harvester (now Navistar). James and Edna were the proud parents of two sons, Michael and Johnny. They lived over 50 years in Dallas where they were members of North Temple Baptist and Northway Baptist Church.
In 2007, they moved to Arlington where they joined the First Baptist Church of that city. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna, who had just passed away in October of this year. They had been married for a remarkable 79 years. He is survived by son Michael Scheuermann and wife Sarah (deceased), and son Johnny Scheuermann and wife Sandra all of Arlington, TX. His five grandchildren include, Ben Scheuermann and wife Jill, Johnny Jr Scheuermann, Callie Stedman and husband Eric, Rachel Meeks (deceased) and husband Doug Meeks and wife Nancy, and Adam Scheuermann and wife Leighanne. Eight great grandchildren were the pride of his life.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend to all.
His memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec 3rd, at 10:00 a.m. at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N Davis, Arlington, TX 76012.
Interment will be at the DFW National Cemetery on Dec 2nd at 2:30 p.m.
