Not a day goes by that I wish you could still be here with us.  I have tried to put the right words down to honor your memory, but no matter what i say will never be enough, and I think a few of us may feel the same...   We know what is in our hearts!  Seems hard to believe at times but I know you are still here with each and everyone of us.  I miss you every single day Dad!!  You have and still are a great DAD, PAPA, husband, brother, friend, mentor, and teacher to all of us.  I ask that you constantly remind of us that every day even when you may think we have forgotten!  I love you Daddy, you have and always will be my hero!!!

I love you Jim !! Thanks for every laugh and every lesson. !! I will never forget you !!

Today has been really hard. It's one year now sence we lost you. I miss you and love you dearly, but I know you don't want any of us to live in sadness or regret. So I do my best to remember all the good times we had been blessed with, It does help to put a smile on my face in place of a frown. There will always be a sadness because your not here with me, but I'm learning how to make it through each day one at a time. I know we will be together again and that helps. Until that day comes I will live my life in a way that would make you proud. That's the best way I can honor you and the love we shared.
Until then I'm loving you and thinking of you every day!

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

 Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
 Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
 That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
 God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

 It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

 God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not  be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I never had the pleasure of meeting, but I've heard the most wonderful things about you, and the stories that have put a smile on my face, fly high sweet angel.

We never got tired of your silly-ness! Love and miss you dearly.

Who decides when the last minute comes, when is the last minute too late?  Where has the rest of time gone?  Why do we take our time when we have it?  What happened to all the time less spent?


It's so hard to believe its almost been a year since I have been able to hug you or kiss you.  It has been a incredibly hard year without you here.  Not a day goes by when I don't come home or pick up the phone,  and still expect to see or hear you.  Know that I still do though.  I see you in every single one of us.  You are and will always be my hero Dad.  There wasn't anything you couldn't do in my eyes.  I still remember the first time I thought of you as a hero.  I was probably only four or five.  We had gone to the park, and you were playing basketball.  I remember you jumping up and making a slam dunk..  Lol. I thought you had flown like a million feet in the air..  You are the greatest Dad and Papa in the world in my eyes (well ok except my Grandpa was the best, lol) because of those silly wonderful moments you have gave us.  I could probably write a novel with just those great memories....With that being said, know we will always carry you in our hearts, we love you, and miss you dearly every day!  Hope you are up there dancing the night away to some Phil Collins...  Lol sry Dad but I couldn't let that one slide!  I LOVE YOU DADDY!!!  Xoxoxo

Feel no quilt in laughter, he'll know how much you care.  Feel no sorrow in a smile, he would love to be here to share.  Please do not grieve forever, for he wouldn't want us to.  He rather have us carry on with our lives, loving, living, as we always do.   So talk about the good times, and the memories you've shared.  Remember him as he always was, letting him know how much we care.  Let memories surround you, as someone might truly say.  It will capture a grand view, a time, a moment, or even a day.  That can bring him back so clearly, letting us know he is still here, and fills you with the feelings, that he will always be near.  Allow the memories to surround you.  Embrace in comfort of his arms, knowing that with this....we will never be apart.

Happy Birrthday to my true love , Jim Gentry! I miss you and love you everyday!

I just wanted to say "Happy Birthday"! Today we all went to your favorite restaurant (OTB) and had lunch and margaritas to celebrate you and your memory. We love and miss you!

It's hard to believe that one year ago on July 9th, our nightmare began when you were admitted to the hospital and told that you had cancer. I was so scared of what was yet to come, but because of how you handled the situation and remained calm and strong while facing it head on. You did everything you could to try and make things easier for me to deal with. Saying goodbye to you was the most difficult thing I have ever done, and everyday I wish things were different. I pray you rest in peace knowing that you did help me through it as only you could. I miss you more with each passing day, knowing that we will be together again is the only thing that keeps me going from day to day. So until that day arrives I will just keep up my daily talks with you and dream of you wrapping your arms around me and telling me everything will be ok because you love me as I love you.

Although you're gone,I do not fear, because I know, you will always be here. I think about you, every single day, so your memory, will never fade away. I'll always be thinking of you, now and forever, for I know that one day, we'll be back together. - Love, Virginia

Just wanted to say thanks for being such a wonderful husband and friend to Virginia gentry...she needed someone like you in her life for her and the kids...glad we all got to be together at the lake for fathers day...it was nice have the gang all together again...but so sad to have you taking away so soon afterwards...you will always be missed you was a true friend to all that met you...we've all have had alot of good times and memories together...thanks so much for being the man and husband to Virginia she needed she couldnt have done any better

So happy to have shared the time with Jim and you at the hospital  and talked about all the good and tough times you all went through and to be able to give our Lord all the glory.  Thanks for years of hard work and good memories at DFW Movers.  So happy Jim was saved and in heaven rejoicing

I remember the day David & I introduced you and Virginia in Kingman,  Arizona, and i don't think ya'll ever separated since then.

Ten years ago you became my colleague, then Mentor, then my Friend.  I feel fortunate to have met you.  You will be missed.

Only knew him from Game's we played on line, but considered him a close friend.  God's Speed my FRIEND!

How about them Cowboy's Jimmy, I know you must be helping them out this year. Cowboy's have always been your team and they are winning for you!

Merry Christmas, babe! You never cease to amaze me. Receiving the necklace from you after your passing was a shocking surprise, but to receive another gift from you at Christmas was just amazing! It reminds me of the special man that you are! I was so blessed to have you in my life. I love you and miss you more with each passing day.

Today was a hard day to get through, it's Thanksgiving, and I'm really missing you. I wish you were still here to eat your favorite foods and watch football. I love you and miss you more with each passing day. I could really use your wisdom right now and wish I could just hear your voice explain to me what I should do.

Jimmy, I still miss you. I know that you are in a better place. You are the 3rd son that I have lost and it doesn't get any easier. Ihope that you, your dad, Mike and Timmy are havng a good time together. Love each one of you.

It has now been 1 month since your left us and it hasn't gotten easier yet. There has not been 1 day that has passed without me thinking about you and sheading a little tear. The holidays are now here and I will miss seeing the only brother that has always spent the holidays with me. I know you are in a better place now but that doesn't stop me from missing having you around. To the brother that was always the closes to me, I love you and miss you dearly. Love your sister...:O)

Years and years ago, when all the "kids" were young, we were always over at Margaret and Orlon's house or they were at our house. One night they were all at our house. Vestle had just put up a very large antenna tower next to the house.  We kept hearing noises on the roof, Vestle and Orlon went out to investigate and caught Jimmy jumping off the house. The rest of the kids ran.  They asked Jimmy what were they thinking and his words were, "It just looked like fun!!"  That has been one of our fun sayings all these years since then and we always think of Jimmy when we say it.  God Bless you!! Aunt Diana and Uncle Vestle

Baby, I still can't believe you are gone. I walk through the house looking for you so I can ask/tell you something. I'm trying so hard to be strong as I know that's what you'd want but it's hard. I miss you so much and just wish you could still hold me for comfort. Everyone tells me it will get easier with time but I think it's the opposite because I'm missing you more each day. You were the best husband  taking care if me and treating me with so much love and respect! I have learned so much from you these past 23 years!
