James Curtis Cammack, Jr., age 91, of Arlington, Texas passed away on Monday, August 29, 2022. James was born February 7, 1931 in El Dorado Arkansas to James Curtis Cammack Sr. and Mamie (Scrimshire) Cammack.
He served 8 years in the National Guard as a SGT and 1st Class Tank Commander, stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. James went on to work for over 30 years as a Communications Engineer with Southwestern Bell which later became ATT.
James met the love of his life, Betty Lou Coker and after only 11 months made her his beloved wife. After retirement he and Betty bought an RV and traveled the entire US with the exception of Hawaii. They also enjoyed camping, especially in Texas, Colorado, Arkansas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. He also spent hours working on cars, taking an old car and fixing it up and teaching his children to drive them.
Although he was hard working man with many passions, James loved spending time with his family the most. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, James will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, James Curtis Cammack III and his grandson, Kelly.
James is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Lou Cammack; sons, Scott Curtis Cammack and wife, Sabrina, Michael James Cammack and wife Terri Lizzo and Steven Wayne Cammack and girlfriend, Kelli Breshers; daughter, Cynthia Lou Cammack and husband Rick Kopp; grandchildren, Brent Scott, Curtis Lee, Paul, Samantha, Jennifer Ann, Randall Wayne, Jeff, Tony; great grandchildren, Omar, Mia, Matthew, Sora, Ethan and Briella Cammack; other family and numerous friends.
A visitation for James will be held Friday, September 2, 2022 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, TX 76016. A funeral service will occur Friday, September 2, 2022, at 1:00 PM at 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, TX 76016. A committal service will occur Friday, September 2, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Parkdale Cemetery, 701 Mary Street, Arlington, TX 76010.
