James was born in Sinton, Texas to James (Bobby) and Estelma Alexander on June 6, 1955. He graduated from Sam Houston High School in Arlington in 1973. James married Vickie Lynn Cameron on March 28, 1975. He was a member of Fielder Church in Arlington.
James was a man who was happiest when surrounded by his family and made a point to tell his wife every day that he loved her.
When asked to describe James, phrases such as “loved his wife and family,” “family man,” “sports fan,” “a true Texan through and through,” and “the man who created Fun-Fridays” were used. He enjoyed watching his sons and then his grandchildren play sports and was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers.
James is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ray Alexander.
James’s life will forever be cherished in the lives of his wife, Vickie, children Ryan Austin (Chantal) Alexander of Mansfield and James Matthew (Jill-Nicole) Alexander of Burleson, grandchildren Bailey and Drew Alexander, brother Charlie Alexander of Pleasanton, and sister-in-law Debbie Cameron of Arlington.
Visitation will be from 6-8 pm, Wednesday, June 22, at Moore Funeral Home in Arlington.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Thursday, June 23, also at Moore Funeral Home.
