The Snowdens have been a childhood memory of mine visiting them when I would go stay at uncle Johnny's cabin at palisade lakes near Pagosa Sorings CO , for most of my life.  I was born and raised in Pagosa. Jack and Betty and thier whole family were always so kind and generous to me and my family. They always had a smile and a warm welcome. I'm really sad I didn't know of Jack's passing until a few months ago. I would love for any of the kids to reach out to me so we can stay in touch. Prayers and hugs to you all. I have many fond memories of 'going to the dentist.' Not everyone can say that! Dr. Snowden and his staff always offered a warm welcome and a feeling of family. I just found out about Dr. Snowden's passing and I know his family will want to know that Mom, Zora Bontley, passed just a month before he did.

One of the first times that I had met the man that would one day become my father in law was during Halloween. Allen and I had met dad and some of his colleagues for lunch. I was dressed in costume due to my work party, so needless to say... it was an interesting lunch and meeting his friends for the first time. 
His giggling with me made me feel better. I have so many memories with this gracious,humble gentleman that I've been so honored to say became my father in law. 
He was a true gentleman of faith and wisdom.  His love of God and family was unmatched. He was and will always be an inspiration to me, our family and those that knew him. I will forever miss my long talks with him, and his loving hugs and support of our hearts. 
My heart is happy that he's now at peace and healthy, with family he'd missed for so long. 
Dad... I see you everyday and hear your kind words to me. I see you in the mountains in your favorite place going hiking, and enjoying yourself in nature. I love you and miss you very much..

To Betty and the family
It was a great blessing to serve in BSF with Jack.  He was a faithful servant of the Lord, and well loved by all who studied scripture with him.  I will miss Jack's sweet spirit and good humor.   It was a joy to see Jack each week.  When I determined who would be in Jack's group each year, I wanted to include men who needed the nurturing attitude of Jack.   Jack was a leader among the leaders.  I know words can't bring the comfort you will receive from the Holy Spirit, but I wanted you to know how Jack blessed me and others.

I met Dr. Snowden at an Arlington Dental Study Club meeting shortly after I opened my practice here  in 1981.  Through the years, he seemed to always be in great mood when we saw each other.  He told me stories about being a military dentist during the Korean war, so I was never sure how old he was. That is, until he mentioned going to his 50th high school reunion; and was amazed at how his classmates had changed, while he had remained the same!  He  had a great sense of humor and was a true professional. I will miss him.

Dr. Snowden was one of the first dentists that my husband and I met when we moved to the area in 1998.  We are both dentists and we will NEVER forget how welcoming and gracious Dr. Snowden was to us and everyone else around him.  He shared insight, wisdom and kindness.  We always looked forward to seeing him at dental society meetings and continuing educational courses.  He was a natural teacher and mentor, however, he was also a forever learner.  We truly lost one of the best dentists and individuals  that we have ever known.  He is now looking over all of us in dentistry and we know that he will continue guiding us and encouraging us from up above.

Dr. Snowden was one of my favorite instructors during Dental College at Baylor.  I became close to him as I got to know him and spoke to him off and on through the years when I would see him at Dental Conventions, etc.  I regret not taking the time to visit with him more often, over coffee or lunch.  He was one of the true gentlemen in Dentistry and deserved the respect he got both as a dentist, teacher and as a person.  I am saddened to hear about his passing, but am glad he was able to live such a long life.  I treasure having known him and will always hold him in high regard.  Blessings to his family during this time.   Thank you Dr. Snowden!
