Irene was born in Charlie, Texas and lived a full and vibrant life across the state. She spent most of her adult life in Port Arthur, Texas, where she and her husband Warren raised their family. She was an active member of Procter Street Baptist Church in Port Arthur, where she was baptized and married. She was a Cub Scout Den mother for both her boys, and a Camp Fire Girls leader for her daughter. After her children grew up, she was an active volunteer for Center for Christian Service in Port Arthur.
When she and her husband moved to Arlington in 1988, they joined Fielder Road Baptist Church where they were also very active, especially in the LLL (Living Longer and Loving it) club. She loved playing 42 (dominos) and was a member of a 42 club where they played monthly. She and her husband celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary there in 2001.
Her passions in life were playing dominos, primarily 42, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed the many large family gatherings and sharing them with all their aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her father, Lige Holliman; mother, Bettie Holliman, husband, Warren; son, Norris; siblings, Cecil Holliman, Pauline Bowling, and Wayne Holliman. She is survived by her son, Russell Patterson (Candy Gale) of Denver, CO., and daughter Vanessa Savoy (Larry) of Little Elm, TX. She is also survived by her four grandchildren Amanda Najir (Craig) of Richmond, TX, Tricia Wawrzeniak (John) of Katy, TX, Matthew Savoy (Allison) of McKinney, TX and Elizabeth Dailey (L.C.) of Saginaw, TX and six great grandchildren; Andrew Salazar, Richmond, TX, Henry Wawrzeniak and Donovan Wawrzeniak of Katy, TX, Ian Savoy of McKinney, TX and Britt Dailey and Brooklyn Dailey of Saginaw, TX
