Herschel Wayne Hicks, 73, of Arlington, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2016 in Arlington. As were his wishes, he will be cremated and will be inurned next to his wife in Moore Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Herschel was born September 30, 1942 in Christopher, Illinois to Ozro Lee Hicks and Bessie Marie Lunsford Hicks. Herschel attended school and lived most of his life in Granite City, Illinois. He married JoAnn Olson in Granite City on February 14, 1965. After moving to Arlington he was a self-employed auto mechanic. He enjoyed following Nascar.
Herschel was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife JoAnn (March 15, 2014.) Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Hicks of Arlington, two sons: Mark Bennett of Indiana and Bryan Bennett of Florida, two grandchildren: Kasen Hicks and Amber Skaggs, one sister, Wilma McReynolds and several nieces and nephews.
