Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, Lindy, her parents, Kenneth Crawford Fowler and Dorothy Wonnie Fowler, brother-in-law Tom Chandler of Bryan, TX; brother-in-law G.W. Chandler and sister-in-law Grace Fair.
Jackie graduated from Crandall High School and attended UTA in Arlington (formerly N.T.A.C.) where she met her future husband Lindy Chandler. They married in 1947. In 1972, she joined her husband while working in the food brokerage business that he had established. Today, the business is owned and operated by her sons and grandsons.
Jackie was an active member of her community and church. She and her husband joined Wynnewood Presbyterian Church in Dallas in 1953. In 1980, they joined First Presbyterian Church in Grand Prairie, where she served as an elder and teacher. She was on the Board of Directors of Brighter Tomorrows (Domestic Abuse Shelters) for many years. She was presented with the "Women in History" award in 2002 by Soroptimist International for the Women Helping Women category. In 2004, she was awarded the "Doris Black" award for her work benefiting women and children.
She is survived by two sons; Gary and wife Karla of Grand Prairie, Chris and wife Rosie of Irving, two daughters; Linda Johnson of Arlington, Myra Pruitt and husband Dr. Sid Pruitt of Joshua, sister-in-law, Willowdean Chandler of Bryan, nine grandchildren; Julie Pool, and husband Dr. Jeff Pool of Joshua, Matthew Johnson and wife Sarah of Arlington, Jaclyn Hagarty and husband Dr. Darren Hagarty of Frisco, Clint Chandler of Grand Prairie, Colin Chandler and wife Kelli of Las Vegas, Chandler Pruitt, Sidney Pruitt, Alexander Pruitt, and Molly Pruitt of Joshua, two step-grandsons; Tommy Fernandez of Dallas, David Fernandez of Arlington, nine-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
