Harry Ray Sharp

Lovingly known as Ray to his family and friends, he was born to Harry and Ruby Sharp in Dalhart, Texas on December 18, 1935. Starting at the age of 8, his family moved to Hutchinson, Kansas and lived there until 1956. During that year, he married the love of his life, Betty. Together, they lived in Kansas, Utah, and Oklahoma where they started their family. With their two children, Julie and Steven, they moved to Texas in the summer of 1971.

After his service in the military, he held various positions until he became Director of Facilities Management and Construction at St. Joseph and All Saints Hospitals in Fort Worth, Texas. He served on the board of directors for the Arlington Life Shelter.

Harry is preceded in death by his wife, Betty and his parents, Harry and Ruby.

Harry is survived by his daughter, Julie Sharp; his son, Steven Sharp; his grandson, Dylan Sharp; his brother, Roy Sharp and wife Barb of Salt Lake City; his sister, Maryanne Sharp King and husband Gary; as well as many other family members and friends. He will be dearly missed.

A visitation will be held at Moore Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Woods Chapel Baptist Church in Arlington on Wednesday, September 27 at 10:00 a.m. A committal service will immediately follow at Moore Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Arlington Life Shelter in memory of Ray.
