Gayle Annette Hutcheson was born September 13, 1948 in Denison, Iowa to Marvin Joseph Hutcheson and Marcella Fern Johannsen Hutcheson. She grew up in Denison, Iowa and Grand Prairie, Texas and attended Grand Prairie High School. After graduation she attended The University of Texas at Arlington, School of Nursing.
Gayle married Glenn Frederick Todd Jr., June 5, 1980 in Grand Prairie. Her greatest joys in life were her organically grown garden and flowers, learning anything new and appreciating the old, exploring estate sales, and her dog Molly. She especially loved being able to vacation while visiting her family. She was drawn to helping neighbors and friends and constantly frustrated by the stresses that 56 years of juvenile diabetes would put on anyone. She fought valiantly all her life.
Gayle was preceded in death by her parents and by one niece, Theresa Blackwell.
She is survived by her husband Glenn Frederick Todd Jr. of Arlington, one son, James Micah Vaughn and his wife Lori of Keller, one granddaughter, Jade Kaprelian of Denton, two brothers; Kent Hutcheson and wife Francie of Ida Grove, Iowa, and Keith Hutcheson of Cortez, Colorado, two sisters; Jody Hammack and husband Garry of Bryan, Texas and Lorie McChristie and husband Gordon of Navasota, Texas, and two nieces; Emily Brown, and Jennifer Downing, one nephew; Kevin Blackwell, two grandnieces; Savannah Downing, and Maegan Blackwell, and two grandnephews; Rhett Brown and Blake Blackwell.
Gayle expressed that gifts to charity should be made in lieu of flowers. Her favorite charity was Mission Arlington (www.missionarlington.org).
