Elaine Gail Kirkpatrick Fuqua, 61, was called home by the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012. Celebration of life: 1 p.m. Friday at Preston Road Church of Christ, 6409 Preston Road, Dallas. Private graveside service: Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Drive, Arlington. Memorials: Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of all our family members who have been touched by cancer. Elaine was born in Terrell on July 3, 1951, to Foy and Mary Kirkpatrick and moved frequently as the daughter of a pulpit minister. Elaine graduated from Fort Worth Christian High School in 1969 and married Ron Fuqua on May 18, 1971. She loved being the wife of a military officer and all the challenges it entailed from 1973-1980. During that time, she traveled from California to Germany, and finally back to Texas. The jewel of her life, Tiffany Rebecca, was born in 1974 at Fort Ord, Calif. Life after the military was spent taking care of her daughter, working as a telephone operator and decorating cakes on the side. She was very involved in all her churches and lived for making others feel welcome by always sending greeting cards and hosting showers. Traveling the world with her husband was another passion. Elaine became a grandmother in 2002 and spent the remaining 10 years spoiling all three. Family was everything to her. She is reunited at last with her father, Foy; her mother, Mary; and her sister, Carol Prindle.
Survivors: Her husband of 41 years, Ron of Dallas; her daughter, Tiffany Box and her husband, Daryl, and precious grandchildren, Dylan, Caroline and Austin of Rogers, Ark.; her brother, Paul Kirkpatrick and his wife, Karen, of Greeley, Colo.; brother-in-law, John Prindle of Arlington; and many, many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws, all of whom she adored.
