Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday at Inglewood Baptist Church in Grand Prairie. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Moore Funeral Home in Arlington.
Edna was born the oldest of seven children on Aug. 2, 1937, in Ringling, Okla., to Perry and Ovella Phillips Whitener.
After 10 years of marriage, she decided to finish nursing school. She worked as a licensed practical nurse for 20 years.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors: Husband of 53 years, Edward Hamm; son, John Hamm (Tammy); daughter, Deborah Toulan; granddaughters, Amber and Alisha; grandson, Elric; great-granddaughter, Shelly; and soon-to-be great-grandson, Noah.
