Dovie Louise "Lou" Butcher

Funeral Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, October 24, at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Dr., Arlington, 76012. There will be a visitation and reception held one hour prior at the funeral home. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens.

Lou was born February 1, 1926 in Hill County to Frank and Lorena Tanner. She graduated from Treadwell High School where she was on the basketball team. She married the love of her life, Odell Butcher, and they had many happy years together until his passing in 1998. Lou and Odell had one daughter, Carolyn Sue Butcher, who passed in 1969.

Lou had a long career as a surgical nurse at All Saints Hospital. She was also a member of North Side Baptist Church in Arlington. In her spare time, Lou enjoyed working in her yard and she was always known to have a beautiful landscape. She would also walk through her neighborhood every day and liked to visit with all of her neighbors.

Lou was a devoted wife, mother, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors: brother, Bacil Tanner and wife, Nelda; and many loving nieces and nephews.
