ARLINGTON -- Doris Gibson Tigert, born April 16, 1924 in Dallas, died January 13, 2015. Doris was a resident of the Tate Springs Community and Arlington since 1933. Memorial Service: 4:00pm Saturday at Rush Creek Christian Church,2401 Southwest Green Oaks Boulevard, Arlington, 76017. Visitation: 2-4:00pm Sunday at Moore Funeral Home. Graveside: 2:00pm Monday at Moore Memorial Gardens. She was a Christian and a member of Rush Creek Christian Church. Formerly she was a member of Tate Springs Baptist Church where she accepted Christ as her Savior. She was a retired bookkeeper for a railroad construction company. Her hobbies were her grandchildren and great grandchildren, making quilt tops for a mission program, and assisting in the Braille program at Grace Lutheran Church. Doris was preceded in death by her husband Leonard E. Tigert and her parents Yvette Turk Gibson and Edwin Burnett Gibson. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Leo Gibson, James Gordon Gibson, Turk Burnett Gibson, and one sister, Helen Andrews. Her survivors include two sisters, Jean Mercer and Joyce Minnick. Her children are Melvin and Shirley Fenn, Janice Morris, Neal Fenn, and Dana and Otha Paul Havens. Beloved grandchildren are Lena and Dyson Nickle, Henry Morris, William and Jaclyn Morris, Lucas Fenn, Lori and Steve Bruns, Mandy and Tory Smith, Stefanie Havens, and Caleb Havens. There are 13 great grandchildren. Doris asked that memorials be made to your favorite child's education fund, favorite charity, or the Rush Creek Christian Church building fund. Honorary casket bearers will be the grandsons, Steve Bruns, Tory Smith, Dyson Nickle, Jr., Lucas Fenn, William Morris, Henry Morris, and Caleb Havens.
