Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 10th at 3 pm at Moore Funeral Home in Arlington. The family will greet friends on Thursday, June 9th from 6-8 pm at Moore. Interment will follow the service at Moore Memorial Gardens.
Dolores was born on September 27, 1936 in Lorain, Ohio to Mildred and Alex Hrinda. She attended Lorain schools and graduated from Lorain High School, Class of 1954. She went on to further her education at St. John’s College and St. Alexis School of Nursing, becoming a Registered Nurse. Dolores devoted 50 years to the nursing profession. She worked at Arlington Memorial Hospital, then finished her career as a Hospice Nurse, retiring at the age of 74.
She was a member of Rolling Hills Country Club in Arlington, the Russo Slav Citizens Club in Lorain, Ohio, and was a former member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Lorain, Ohio, where she and her husband were married.
Dolores was preceded in death by her brother, Dennis Hrinda; her parents, Mildred and Alex Hrinda; and her husband George Kokinda, to whom she was married for 45 years and will be laid beside to rest.
Dolores is survived by her children: Georgina Kay Kokinda and husband Don Grody of Evergreen, Colorado; Sandra Annette Kokinda Rivas of Burleson, Texas; and George Jeffrey Kokinda of Burleson, Texas. She also has 3 grandchildren: Alexander Rivas, age 20; Jordyn Kokinda, age 16; and Kamryn Kokinda, age 12; as well as 8 nieces and nephews.
The children of Dolores wish to extend a special thank you to all the physicians who cared for her: Dr. Deur, Oncologist; Dr.Guerra, Pulmonologist; Dr. Gilbey, Pulmonologist; and Dr. Patel, Hospitalist. Thank you also to the Nursing and Respiratory staff, who gave such compassionate care.
