Dianne Jasek

She was smart, funny, and joyful. Now she is enjoying a marvelous reunion in heaven. Sharon “Dianne” Jasek died peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, March 19, 2025, at the age of 90. Visitation will be held at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Drive in Arlington on Monday, March 24th, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be held on Tuesday March 25th, at 3:00 p.m.

Dianne was born to Imogene Earl Ables and Walter Louis Mays on February 18, 1935, in Dallas, Texas.

After graduating from Forest Avenue High School in 1952, she attended Hardin-Simmons University where she met her future husband.

Dianne married Melvin Dennis Jasek on December 20, 1953, and they celebrated 66 years together until his death in 2020. They moved to Arlington in 1963. Dianne was a devoted wife and mother, spending countless hours taking part in the activities of her family. Not only did she play a vital role in the lives of her loved ones, but Dianne was also active in several organizations. Those groups included sewing, bridge, camping, dinner, and theater groups. She was a lifetime member of Kiwanis Club, and a long-time member of the ETC Sunday School Class and First Baptist Church of Arlington.

Dianne worked as an aide at South Davis Elementary School, and as a secretary at Blanton Elementary and Corey Elementary Schools.

Dianne was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Melvin Dennis Jasek, and twin brother and sister, Garold Lynn Mays and his wife, Beverly , and Gayla Elaine Mays Northcutt and her husband, Dean. Dianne is survived by her daughter, Kristy Hayes and her husband Van of Abilene, and son, Kelly Jasek and his wife Chris Hoag-Jasek of Arlington. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, their spouses and children. Dianne’s final few years of life were enhanced by the comfort and care given by many skilled, compassionate, and loving caregivers at The Isle at Watercrest Mansfield, to whom her family is deeply grateful.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Mission Arlington.
