Diane was born on March 28, 1936 in Elgin, Texas to Horace & Hazel Koenig. She grew up in Austin, Texas where she first met her husband-to-be, W. H. “Bill” White at Baker Junior High. She and Bill graduated from McCallum High School in 1954 in the first graduating class of McCallum. Bill & Diane were married in Austin on June 20, 1954. They went to Ranger Jr. College and then on to Southwest Texas State in San Marcos. After graduation, they moved to Arlington, Texas.
In 1965, they started United Sales of Texas, a wholesale Mobile Home and Recreational Vehicle business. They both worked tirelessly together and were devoted to making it successful. The business later moved to Fort Worth and at one time United Sales had wholesale warehouse locations in the five surrounding states. Through both of their hard work and dedication, United Sales was a multi-million dollar company. United Sales was sold in the early 1980’s with the idea of retirement. With the desire to continue in the RV industry they decided to open United RV Center in Fort Worth in 1985. They worked side by side until Bill’s passing in 1992. Diane helped the company grow and enjoyed working alongside her daughter and two sons over the years. Diane retired March of 2018 at the age of 80.
Diane was a talented business woman, homemaker, seamstress, cook and wonderful mother to her three children, Debbie, Bill Jr. and Kevin. She and Bill loved entertaining friends, and business associates. They both traveled extensively around the world. A favorite destination was always Las Vegas. Diane was known as elegant, a fashionista and was always impeccably dressed. She loved her family and always made holidays special.
She is survived by her children Debbie Ellis and husband Larry of Abilene, William H. “Bill”
