Born on May 10, 1978 to Jimmy Thanh Vo and Nu Thi Tran in Phu Quoc, Vietnam, the family migrated to the United States to better their lives.
After graduating from school, David chose to serve and protect his community. He began his career in law enforcement with North Richland Hills Police Department on April of 2007. He served with North Richland Hills PD for 2 years before becoming a member of the Arlington Police Department. He was a proud member of class number 40. While with the APD, David was a member of the Patrol Units, the Gang Unit and the Tactical Intelligence Unit. Being an officer of the law was a life-long dream for David and during his time he received a total of 16 commendations.
Family was the most important thing to David. He was an honorable son, a protective brother and, above all, a loving father.
He is survived by his two children: Tanner Linh Vo and Mackenize Thao Vo; sister Samantha Tran and husband Richard Tran, sister Jessica Vo and fiancé Viet Tran; baby sister Quynhnhu Vo; parents Jimmy Vo and Nu Tran and his grandmother Vo Thi Kinh.
