Steve was a lifelong resident of Arlington, Texas and a proud 1968 graduate of Arlington High School, where he was an outstanding member of the football team.
On one occasion during his high school years, Steve demonstrated his courage by disregarding his own safety to save some friends from a burning structure – an action for which he received a commendation.
Steve attended Navarro Junior College on a football scholarship, until injuries ended his playing career. After his education, he worked as a plumber, and a ranch manager, before settling into his long-term career in the commercial construction industry.
Steve was most happy spending time outdoors, or with his family and friends.
Those same family and friends will remember him for his generous, loyal spirit, his love of a good time, appreciation of a good laugh, and his sense of optimism.
Steve was preceded in death by: son, David Shawn Marks, father, William Henry Marks Sr., and mother, Mary Evelyn Marks.
Those left to cherish his memories: brother, William Henry Marks Jr., nephew Chris and Eddi Marks, nephew Aaron and Sarah Marks, nephew Patrick, Mandi, Asa, Sage, and Collette Marks.
