Dale Kirk Hickman

Dale was born in Waxahachie, Texas on April 5, 1930 to Bert Howard Hickman and Mary Alice Kirk. A good and joyful man, he retired after 30 years of service with the U.S. Postal Service. Although he never served in the military, Dale was very patriotic and loved everything that his country stands for. During his free time, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, barbecuing, and looking after his flowers and vegetables in his garden. At the State Fair, in his barbershop quartet, or even in his choir, Dale always found a way to showcase his natural talent as a singer. However, nothing brought him more joy than to spend time with the love of his life, Thalia, and their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Dale is survived by his wife of 69 ½ years, Thalia McGrew, his 2 children Jerome Hickman and Cynthia Shelton, his son-in-law Tom Shelton, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, his sister Anella Janes, as well as many other family members and friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas 76012.

His funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at Acton United Methodist Church, 3433 Fall Creek Highway, Granbury, Texas 76049. A committal service at Moore Memorial Gardens will follow at 12:30 p.m.
