Born on October 23, 1949 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she lived in St Louis, Oklahoma City, Ft Worth, Dallas, Arlington and Euless; she made her home and family in Mansfield, TX. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University, with a degree in economics. She worked for Dwight’s Energy Data, BJ-Hughes, GE, and General Dynamics/Lockheed-Martin until retiring in 2015 to travel and explore this wonderful world with which the Lord has blessed us.
Cheryl was a member of First Methodist Mansfield, and enjoyed her Bible study classes, and the love shared with each and every member of the Fusion Class.
Survivors include husband and travel partner Steve Nelson; daughter Jenne Nelson of Austin, TX and son Alex Nelson of Addison, TX; brother Jay Pruett of Tulsa OK; nephews Charlie Pruett and Jason Pruett of Dallas, TX and cousin Judy Butler of Carrollton, Georgia. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Jeter and Maple Pruett of Ft Worth, TX, and her loving puppies, Chloe and Jack.
A visitation for Cheryl will be held Friday, March 16, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home. A funeral service will occur Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Frist United Methodist of Mansfield, 777 N. Walnut Creek Drive, Mansfield, Texas. A graveside service will occur Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Moore Memorial Garden, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas.
