I have appreciated Chuck since he hired me for Mech Sys in 1992. He was a Godly man with an immediate answer to any question on e-mail. It was a joy to be around a fellow USAF officer of my era. Chuck helped me and others in the office so much.

Micah and I only had the pleasure of knowing Paw-Paw for a few years. There is something of an honor that goes along with being able to say that you knew someone as great as Paw-Paw.. He was truely a wonderful person and will be greatly missed.

Mr. Sutton was a true gentleman and was always there for his family. Our thoughts and prayers are with Bobby. Chuck will truly be missed.

My condolonces to the Sutton Family.  I din't know Mr. Sutton long, but I will miss chatting with him at Robert's shop.  He was always a delight to talk to.

Sutton Family,    I got to know Mr. Sutton at the bank these past few years and enjoyed conversations with him.  He always asked about my son who is in the Air Force and my new grandson who is now 3 yrs old.  Always pleasant and had a smile for everyone.   My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.

Mr. Sutton brightened the days for us here at his bank. He greeted us by name, encouraged or sympathized, whatever the need. We had the privilege of knowing him for just a few years but by deed and action all here knew he was a good man. He and his smile will be missed. Our sympathy to the family he loved so much!

All of us at Mansfield Community Bank will miss our favorite customer, Mr. Sutton.  He was a warm & happy welcome to our day and always made us smile! Pawpaw was one of the nicest men I have ever met. I'm happy that he was a part of my life and I will never forget everything that he ever did for me. He always had something great to share, and knew how to put a smile on your face. He will truly be missed but never forgotten. My thoughts and Prayers are with everyone in the Sutton Family.

We went to school together, had dinner in Viet Nam several times.  Got together in Washington, Got Wanda to the Hospital when Robert was born, Fished together, and have many wonderful memories to help keep you in our hearts.  God bless you and keep you Chuck.

I was deeply moved to hear of Bass' passing.  He and Wanda were a big part of my growing up years as I desperately tried to keep their son (& my best friend), Jon, out of trouble.  In a house full of boys, he always said I was the little girl he never had.  Wanda, Jon, Bobby & Mike - Know that he is now resting in the arms of our Lord and we will see him again.

I spent 12 yrs in the Air Force working toward an engineering degree and when I got out to finish my degree at UTA, Chuck hired me as a Co-op student here at Lockheed (Then LTV Missiles). Chuck was a great supervisor and leader.  He was genuinely interested in his employees, their career development and satisfaction and recognized that I was a bit different than a "wet-behind-the-ears" college graduate.  He even went to bat for me and convinced HR to increase my pay grade based on my years of Air Force experience.  I thoroughly enjoyed working under Chuck's leadership.  He was once told me I "walked on water" when discussing my good performance review.  It is a certainty that Chuck is now with Jesus, walking on water.

 I met Chuck in 1992, through his son and my good friend Robert. It was immediately obvious that Chuck was a man of character, tolerance and conviction, over the years that first impression proved true. I got to know him best in the years he spent time assisting Robert at his taxidermy business. Chuck was as proud as a man could be of all his son's and grand-children's accomplishments no matter how big or small. He loved Wanda and was never shy to say so. Family was one of his cornerstones and he shared stories of them at every opportunity.
 I did not know Chuck the soldier; those days were long past when we met. I only knew him as a father, grand-father, husband and friend. He took all his roles seriously and accomplished them with flying colors. Supportive, generous and helpful to his family and friends he possessed the character of a time before i-pods and cell phones when honesty meant everything and personal accomplishment was expected.
 As life passes by I regret not knowing more men like Charles Sutton, a man who called us down in mischief and patted us on the back in triumph. June 30, 2010 the world lost a soldier, family cornerstone and friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time.

He was a kind and respected man. It was a honor and pleasure to work for him. He has been missed in my life already. I wish the family strength and peace as they miss him in theirs now.  It is nice to know we will see him again someday.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Sutton family. We did not know him personally but are very close to his son Jon. Jon always spoke very highly of him and he will be greatly missed.

Charles was my Dad's nephew, but because of their closeness in age, they were more like brothers.  When I was a little girl, I loved going over to Charles', Wanda's, and Mike's house to visit.  As I grew up, we grew apart. I did though, years later, follow in his footsteps and become a Colonel, albiet with the US Army.  Charles and I became reconnected in Sep '08 when my Mom passed away and Charles came to her service.  We started communicating again, mostly about family--his and mine.  I miss him so much, I loved him.  Wanda and Mike, I knew you both the best from those days gone by. God bless you all.  My husband Rob and I will continue to think of and pray for all the Sutton family this week and for the days, weeks and months to come.

Mike, you have my phone number if you ever decide to call. I would love to keep in touch.

Charles Albert sutton. loved bye all. He was everything to everyone. Call him what you want; military hero, colonel, Charles, chuck, bass, brother, dad, pawpaw, or friend. He was never scared to die because he loved god! I will miss you dad! I love you!

May the peace of Christ Jesus comfort the Sutton family during this chapter of their lives.  I worked with Chuck during the early part of my engineering career and have the fondest respect for him.  I am so grateful to have known him and called him boss.  He will be missed.

Bass, a name he was given so many years ago, and one I affectionately continued to refer to him by will be greatly missed. He truly was one of the great men,  dedicated to his country and his family. He is in better place now.  I have no doubt he will continue to watch over his family just as he did when he was here with us.

I was in chuck's sunday school class for several years at tate springs. even after I left tate springs cuuck stIll kept in formed about the sunday school'S prayer list. Chuck will be missed . John Matthews, Grand Prairiw, Tx.

I shall miss the proospect of finding wonderful words and heartfelt thoughts on my e-mail from Chuck Sutton. Though we seldom crossed "work-paths" on a daily basis,it always seemed as though Chuck was involved.  I guess, looking back on it, he WAS involved, simply because you became a part of his 
family there at work, never to leave from that moment when you first met him.  It didn't matter that you and he came froim different parts of the organization chart: if you so much as worked in the same building you were "hooked."

I only knew this special man for two years.  He was one of the most generous people I have ever known.  He certainly made his family proud, as I am very proud to have met him.  Thank you Paw-Paw for everything you did for your country, your community, your friends and most of all, your famly.  Thank you Paw-Paw for the kindness you showed to me and my family.  You are truly loved.

 I am going to miss the-mails as we kept contact over the years and was glad to have been able to "hang out" with Chuck and Roy Gentry at the EC-47 Reunion May 2010 at Ft. Walton Bch near Eglin9  where we finished our combat crew tng  in '66 Charles Sutton, Roy Winkler Merrill Green,Wm Blair and I delivered an EC-47 (Gooney Bird) from Grenier Fld in N.H. to Saigon, Viet Nam - Chuck was my upperclassman at nav tng in Harlingen AFB , Tx. but didn't meet up untill this trip in '66-'67  God bless you Charles Sutton and your family - Shirley and I offer our deepest symathy to the family - Ed Hodapp (Orlando Fl.)

We will forever be grateful to Charles (Bass) for all the care and co-ordination he gave to our Hugo Alumni and keeping check on the ones who needed prayer, etc., because of their illness. Chuck was the senior pilot of our Phyllis Ann  crew that made a delivery of an EC 47 to Vietnam. Although we lost contact after Vietnam Chuck made an effort to contact and locate all of us. In my case he was able to locate me through the internet. I have recieved a number of email from Chuck and it was very evident tha he cared deeply for those that knew him. I will miss him.

Although I didn’t know Chuck personally….I got to know his family in ICU at a Mansfield hospital.  I feel so blessed to have gotten the chance to meet such a sweet family.  I am so sorry to hear he passed away.  I was praying for a speedy recovery.  I guess God had other plans.  May God give the family strength as they try to understand why his life was cut so short.  My thoughts are with each and everyone of you.

Although I never met Chuck I felt a connection through the 482nd FIS. I was in the 482ND when Seymour johnson AFB was re-activated in 1957. I was never able to attend any of the reunions Chuck always invited me and kept me up to date on the results. I appreciated his faithful efforts in that regard. I'm sure that he will be missed by all who were associated with those events.

I had not see Chuck since 1966. I was his Flight Mech on many flights on the EC-47 during Project Phylis Anne. We finaly got together at the EC-47 Reunion this past May. We had a great time. I'm glad I got to see you Chuck. May God bless you and your family.

For the last few years Chuck was my best friend. I miss him very much.
My prayer is for our Lord to comfort the famil and give them strenght to get through this tragedy.

Charles Sutton and I go back to Grade School in Hugo, Oklahoma. He lived only a few blocks from my house and we would walk to school together. One day after it had rained all day and as we walked through a park coming home, we spotted a young firl who had fallen into a drain ditch and was being swept away. Surely she would have drowned if Charles and I hadn't pulled her out. We carried her home.

We continued our education on through Junior High and then High School where we played football together on the same side of the line. He played left tackle and I played left end.

In the following years we saw and visted each other at the reunions we had at Hugo. He was always a good friend and remained that way through out his life to all his friends. He was loved by all of us. His family and friends will miss him dearly. There will never be another one like him. God bless his family and all of his friends, and may he rest in peace with his God.
