Charles (Chuck) Thomas Schraeder passed away April 2, 2020, at the age of 73, in Arlington, Texas. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 15, 1946, son of late Charles H. Schraeder and Sarah Ann Lewis. He married Lorraine Compher on July 29, 1965. They had 4 children, Chris, Steve, Michelle, and Brian. He had a successful career with American Airlines, holding a number of different positions within the company. That career moved him and his family to Texas in 1977. He retired from American in 2012 after 45 years.
When Chuck wasn't working he was an avid reader, enjoyed watching movies, spending time with family and was a baseball fanatic. He spent many hours watching baseball on TV, cheering on the Tigers and Rangers. One of his favorite pastimes was taking his kids and later grandkids to see Rangers games in person.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years, Lorraine (Compher) Schraeder of Arlington, Texas; his four children, Chris and Brenda Schraeder of Fort Worth, Texas; Steve and Becky Schraeder of Burleson, Texas; Michelle Vasquez of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Brian and Meredith Schraeder of Bentonville, Arkansas; as well as six grandchildren, Courtney Schraeder, Arlington, Texas, Megan Vasquez, Grand Prairie, Texas, Tyler Vasquez, Grand Prairie, Texas, Laney Schraeder, Bentonville, Arkansas, Carly Schraeder, Burleson, Texas, and Wyatt Schraeder, Bentonville, Arkansas. He also leaves behind sisters, Janet (Dave) Malcomson of Farmington, Michigan, and Judy (Bob) Freels of Garden City, Michigan, and sister-in-law, Debbie Kales of Redford, Michigan. The family will have a celebration of Chuck's life later in the year.
