It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charles Patton Sr., a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, on August 16, 2023. Charles was born on November 16, 1954, in Houston but made a home for himself and his family in Arlington, leaving behind a lasting impact on the community he called home.
Charles was born to parents William and Vivian Patton, and though he had a difficult childhood, he used those lessons to teach himself the values of hard work, compassion, and love for family. These principles guided Charles throughout his life, and he passed them down to his own children and grandchildren.
On a sunny day in 1982, Charles married the love of his life, LuAnn, creating a bond that would withstand the tests of time. Together, they created a beautiful family, raising five children: Charles Edward Patton Jr. (CJ) with spouse Liz Patton, Kaitlyn Webster with spouse James Webster, David Patton, Alyson Mathai with spouse Bejoy Mathai, and Jacob Patton.
The joy in Charles' life extended beyond his immediate family to his seven adored grandchildren. He took immense pleasure in watching them grow, and they brought him abundant happiness and pride that words cannot adequately express.
Along with his wife, kids and grandkids - Charles is survived by his brothers William (Debbie) Patton and Kenneth (Denise) Patton, his sister Wanda McCracken and many nieces and nephews.
Charles dedicated the later portion of his life to serving his community. Professionally, he worked as a Retail Manager at Kmart for many years, where he expertly managed the store and forged strong relationships with his colleagues and customers. Aside from his retail career, he also volunteered with the Arlington Police Department. Charles was deeply involved in the St. Albans Anglican Parish, where his unwavering faith and compassionate spirit were evident to all who knew him. He actively participated in numerous initiatives, offering his time, talents, and resources to help those in need. He was incredibly dedicated to serving the people of Malawi and fervently believed in bringing aid and support to their community.
Charles will be lovingly remembered for his warm smile, kind heart, and helpful spirit. He had an innate ability to put others at ease, offering guidance and support during challenging times. His words of encouragement, wisdom, and humor brought light to even the darkest of days.
Charles leaves behind a beautiful legacy, one that will be cherished and carried forward by those who knew and loved him. While our hearts ache with sadness at his departure, we take solace in the knowledge that his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
We will hold a memorial service to celebrate Charles' life on September 2nd 2023 at 10 AM at St. Albans Anglican Parish in Arlington, Tx. Please join us as we honor the memory of this incredible man and find comfort in each other's presence during this difficult time.
May Charles Patton Sr.'s soul rest in eternal peace, and may his family find solace in the memories they shared and the love he bestowed upon them.
