Independent at a young age, Carol moved from New Jersey to Greenwich Village before accepting a job transfer in Dallas Texas. She met the first love of her life, Don Lane while both worked at Love Field. They married in 1957 and over the next few years had three children. Carol loved floral design and creative crafts, including cooking, sewing, ceramics and knitting. She served as an officer of the Fort Worth Garden Club and as a judge on the state level for floral design.
Don died in December 1996. Carol’s warm and inviting personality led to her meeting many new friends and brought new social opportunities. During this time, she met the second love of her life, Ed Parrott, whom she married in September 2001. They enjoyed over 18 years of laughs, good friends, and travel. For so long as possible, Carol attended St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Arlington Texas. Carol missed her friends from the church and leisure club when she moved away but was grateful for the many wonderful friends she considered family at the Alders in Rockwall.
Carol was preceded in death by her first husband Don, and second husband Ed, her parents and four siblings. She is survived by David Lane (Jodi), Cathy Penn (Terry), Robert Lane (Ruth), six grandchildren and three great grandchildren, as well as Ed’s family, Dianne Parrott (David Ewoldt), Mary O’Hern (John), Stephen Parrott, Tom Parrott (Liz) and three grandchildren.
Flowers gratefully declined. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the American Cancer Society.
