Carol Routt Austin

Funeral: 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Moore Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Moore Funeral Home.

She was born on Jan. 30, 1933. Carol was a lifelong resident of Handley, located in East Fort Worth. Carol graduated in 1951 from Handley High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Boyd, in 1951. They were best friends and inseparable for 44 years. Carol retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1989 after 32 years as a federal employee. During her retirement she enjoyed taking care of her home, working in the yard and took frequent trips to the beach in Perdido Key, Fla. She always looked forward to having the entire family get together.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Lee Austin, and her granddaughter Courtney Austin Miller.

Survivors: Her sons, Dale Austin, Mike Austin and Adele Lozano; daughter, Vickie Austin and Michele Lynch; grandchildren, Anne Austin Johnson and husband, Jason, Brandon Austin and wife, Ryane, Craig Austin and wife, Caroline, and Clint Miller; four great-grandchildren, Stephen, Riley, Cade and Casten; along with her granddog, Malibu.
