Bruce White was born in Valdosta, Georgia, to Mr. and Mrs. Myrwyn B. White, and lived in many places during his father's service in the United States Air Force. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1970, followed by a Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Geology from the University of Texas at Austin in 1974. As a graduate student, Bruce pursued grant opportunities to study and work abroad in many countries and eventually fulfilled his dream of taking the Trans-Siberian Railroad. His family and friends always looked forward to post cards and telephone calls from his latest destination. Eventually Bruce returned to Texas and began managing the family's real estate properties in Arlington. Bruce will be remembered for his huge heart, engaging personality, and inexhaustible knowledge of international affairs. He is survived by his sister, Marlis Ann Wadley, and niece, Catherine. A memorial service for Bruce will take place at First United Methodist Church in Arlington at 2 pm on Saturday, August 25. If desired, donations may be made to The American Diabetes Association.
