Bonnie was born on June 24, 1945, in Inglewood, California, to Mr. & Mrs. Jack and Margaret Grisham. She grew up in nearby Norwalk where she first demonstrated her extraordinary ability to establish life-long friendships — a talent that continued throughout her lifetime.
Bonnie and her first husband (deceased) had an adoring son, Brian, who credits her for the values he has always lived by.
Bonnie received many awards during her 28-year career in aerospace. While working at LTV here in Texas she was appointed configuration manager for the company’s important satellite program. When NASA inspected the program, Bonnie received zero discrepancies — an unheard of accomplishment.
Bonnie met her husband, Tom, at a Methodist church dance in Arlington and they were soon deeply in love. After their marriage, they discovered their mutual love of travel and soon they were driving, cruising and flying to popular ports of call around the world.
Bonnie will always be remembered for her loving & generous heart and perhaps most of all, for her love and support of her family and friends. Her deep nurturing spirit extended well beyond her family to a wide range of church and civic activities. Throughout her life, she especially excelled both as chairperson and team member of fundraising activities for her church as well as other charitable and community organizations. Her favorite work by far was mentoring troubled junior and senior high school students at Arlington’s Turning Point School — a program that she and her husband established and administered for New World United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Tom, as well as her children: Brian Brauninger, Cristin & John Mills, Erin & Boyd Heath and grandchildren: Hayden Brauninger, Amanda Brauninger, Lilah Brauninger, Alexandra Mills, Ava Mills, Aidan Mills, Connor Heath, Helena Heath, and Emerson Heath.
A celebration of Bonnie's life will be held on Friday, August 20th, at 11:00 am at New World United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New World, Compassion International and St Jude Children’s Hospital.
