Bonnie was born in Morgan Mill, TX to Vernice and Claude Baker. After marrying Roy Carter in 1949, they settled down to raise their family in Hurst, TX. Though she spent most of her life as a professional secretary, the last 14 years of her working career were spent as a bus monitor for the HEB ISD. The consummate caregiver, she truly loved taking care of the children onboard.
Bonnie enjoyed an eclectic mix of hobbies including gardening, reading mystery novels, and researching the genealogy of her family. She was also known for her famous homemade Divinity.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband, three sisters, and two grandchildren.
She is survived by four children: Roy Jr., Claudia, James, and Marty, their spouses, her brother, 12 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
