Bobby Glen Skelton passed away unexpectedly on September 21, 2022 in Grand Prairie, Texas. Bobby was born on December 22, 1948 to Felix and Lilly Pearl Skelton in Dimmitt, Texas. After his mother passed away, Bobby and three of his siblings grew up in the New Mexico Christian Children’s Home in Portales, where he graduated from Portales High School in 1967. Bobby served honorably in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1973. He and Juanita Stachowiak married in 1972 and had one son, “little” Bobby, who survives him at the family home. After retiring from Gulfstream Aerospace, Bobby enjoyed spending time with and helping his family.
Bobby was preceded in death by his mother, Lilly Pearl Beck, his father, Felix Thomas Skelton, sister Linda Fay Skelton, sister Ellen Peterson, sister-in-law Carolyn Skelton, brother Felix Lynn Skelton, sister-in-law Claire Skelton. He is survived by his son Bobby Glen Skelton II, daughter-in-law Rachael, and his pride and joy, granddaughter Emma Skelton of Grand Prairie; brother Jim Skelton of Grand Prairie; sister Susie Roberts and husband Gary of Canyon, TX; sister Mary Reed of Glendale, Arizona; brother Tommy Skelton of Odessa, Texas; sister Dorothy Vanginault and husband Valton of Winnsboro, Texas; brother George Peterson of Grand Prairie, Texas; and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A visitation for Bobby will be held Monday, October 17, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, TX 76016. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 11:00 AM, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, TX 76016. A committal service will occur Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 1:15 PM at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211.
