Bobby was married to Anne Kay McCommas, his loving wife of 54 years and had three children, Karen, Mark and Kimberly.
He was born December 20, 1937 in Dallas, Texas and graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1955. He earned his bachelor’s degree from UNT and his master’s degree from Texas A&M Commerce. Bobby went on to teach in the Midlothian, Arlington and Dallas Independent school districts for 36 years. In his teaching career, he taught math, mechanical drawing, physical education, and was an athletic coach. He also taught occupational investigation and computer applications.
Bobby also obtained a real estate brokerage license, an insurance brokerage license and had his own business for several years.
In addition to being a hard and dedicated worker, he enjoyed life to the fullest! He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, and developed a huge talent for painting and wood carving. In his backyard studio, he also taught woodcarving classes. His beautiful creations will be treasured by his family forever.
Bobby and Anne were members of First United Methodist Church in Duncanville and then Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco. As a child of God, Bobby enjoyed attending bible study, Sunday school, church and learning God’s word. Although we will miss him terribly, we know he is whole again in heaven.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas M. McCommas, Jr. and Katherine McCommas Jensen, and his sister Martha.
He is survived by his wife, Anne, sisters Margaret, Marsha and Marla, his daughter Karen and husband Joe, son Mark and fiancé Dianne, daughter Kimberly and husband Mark, grandchildren Chris, Kerry and Kasy, as well as 4 great grandchildren and extended family members.
