Celebrating the Life of Billy Richard
Billy Richard of Mansfield, Texas was born to Robert and Betty Richard on January 5, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois. Billy graduated from Edward-Tilden High school on June 17, 1977. Billy was an Army Veteran that served his country for 20-years after enlisting into the United States Army on September 16, 1977. Billy was a world class serviceman completing tours of duty in Germany, Desert storm, and serving in many other capacities throughout his career. Billy retired from military service on September 30, 1997. On August 1st, 1988 Billy entered into Holy Matrimony with the love of his life, Onetta Brooks, in Topeka, Kansas. To this union 7-blessings were added and a lifetime of precious memories forever built. Billy loved sitting in his hot tub, listening to the blues, hanging out with his friends, shooting the breeze, going out to eat, but most of all he was dedicated to his family. Billy was a principled man, a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, Uncle, and so much to so many people. Billy entered eternal rest on Sunday July 24, 2022, in Mansfield, Texas, and will be dearly missed.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Betty Richard and his brother Robert Richard.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving spouse of 35 years Onetta Richard, his 7 children: Nathan (Jason), Gerald (Ashley), TaJuan, Courtland, Latasha, SaQuoria & Latifah. He is also survived by five siblings: Nelson (Ann), Shirley Spruille (Lester), Donnie (Joan), Connie & Cornell (Markita), all of Chicago, Illinois, and his best friend and brother in law James "Fuzzy" Armstrong.
In loving memory of our dear brother/uncle and cousin. You were greatly loved and most cherished by your siblings, nieces, and nephews. Life will never be the same without you here (The Family).
Pallbearers: Bryllan Gill, Theodore Hall, Jovan Hall, William Holloway, Zion Pete and Elijah Pete. Honorary Pallbearers: Tommy Brooks Jr., Gerald Pickett and Joe Richard.
