Billy Mack Parker, 94, passed away on July 7, 2024. Bill was born on September 1, 1929 in Dallas at Methodist Hospital to Simmie Parker and Fay Rodgers Parker. He grew up in Oak Cliff and began working at TEMCO at a young age and retired at 58 from LTV. He met Betty Bruce at work and they married in January 1959. They had two daughters and raised them in Arlington, Texas.
Bill loved to hunt. He was involved in the Arlington Sportsman’s Club and the Dallas Arms Collectors Association. After retirement, he and Betty enjoyed traveling through the US, Alaska, and Canada in their RV. They spent the summers camping in Colorado. When Betty became ill with Alzheimer’s, he lovingly took care of her until her death in 2018. Bill was a Mason and resided at The Masonic Retirement Center in Arlington since 2021. Bill was a loving husband and father.
Bill was predeceased by his wife Betty Bruce Parker (2018), his father Simmie Parker (1985) and his mother Fay Rodgers Parker (1997).
Bill is survived by two daughters Jill Coble and husband Paul of Rendon, TX and Kim Peters and husband Brent of South Hampton, NH; four grandchildren Paige Coble, Brian Coble, Megan Peters, and Ian Peters; and three great grandchildren Cooper Coble, Quinn Coble, and Kai Coble; and brother Ralph Parker of Dallas, TX.
A memorial Service for Bill will be 10:00 am Saturday at the Masonic Retirement Center at 1501 W. Division Street Arlington, Texas 76012
