Memorial service: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Alsbury Baptist Church with Pastor Scott Sharman officiating. Friends and family will be received following the service.

Born in Tioga, June 8, 1934, to Rev. Ira and Alma Wilkerson Bentley, Bill grew up in the Arlington Heights area of Fort Worth and graduated from Arlington Heights High School and Decatur Baptist College in Denton. He married Winnie Fay Bratcher on Sept. 4, 1953. They recently celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Bill served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed with his wife in Virginia where both of their children were born.
Bill and Winnie lived in Burleson while Bill was employed by Stratoflex. In the early '60s he was transferred to Houston where he later worked for Coastal Rubber Co. until he retired in 2004 and they returned to Burleson to be closer to family and friends.
Bill accepted Christ as Savior at the young age of 5, always remembering clearly his commitment to Christ. He was a member of Alsbury Baptist Church. He was a lover of old cars and enjoyed collecting old clocks.
Bill will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
Survivors: He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Winnie; daughter, Karen Bentley Clark and husband, Charles, of Virginia; son, Richard Bentley and wife, Susan, of New York; grandchildren, Jennifer Clark Cook, Bryan Clark and Kyle Clark-Sutton, Richard Bentley, Robert Bentley and Sarah Bentley Griffin; eight great-grandchildren; his sister, Nell Newsom and husband, James; brother-in-law, John Bratcher, Tommy and Gail Powers and family; many cousins and friends.
