Bill was born in Indio, California. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. He graduated from UTA in Business Administration and also received a master’s degree in Psychology from NTSU. He married Carol Groves in 1974. Bill worked for and retired from the City of Arlington after 32 years.
As a young man, Bill spent much time focusing on songwriting and singing. He wrote the song, "Baby" recorded by Dallas Cowboy, Buddy Dial in 1964. Bill was a generous individual who was passionate about family. He was an active member of the Northwest Church of Christ. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 42 years, Carol Goodson, son Matt Goodson, daughters Adrianne Goodson and Wendy Ewest, son-in-law Rob Ewest, grandchildren Tyler and Austin Ewest, sister Camelda Shaw, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and brother.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm, Friday, September 23, 2016 at Moore Funeral Home on N. Davis St., Arlington. Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the same location. Terry Slack will officiate the ceremony. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
