She was born on June 3, 1933 in Ennis, TX but grew up in Houston. On February 3, 1951, she married the love of her life, Bert McEacharn. They lived in Arlington, TX for over 35 years and raised their family there.
Betty taught 3 year old children at the first Mother's Day Out in Texas at First Christian Church in Arlington for 25 years. Upon her retirement, she and her husband moved to Canton, TX. They became a part of Martin's Mill Baptist Church in Martin's Mill, TX and they loved their church and their life together in Canton. They had many dear friends there that they considered as their second family.
After the death of her husband, Bert, in April, 2010, Betty began to volunteer at the Martin's Mill School reading with the younger kids. She loved working with these kids and volunteered there until 2019 when her health prevented her from continuing to do so.
Betty loved her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids and enjoyed spending time with them. She was dearly loved in return.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, Bert McEacharn and her oldest son, Bert Michael McEacharn. She is survived by her daughter, Nena Joyce McEacharn Cummins and husband, Marc, her son, James Keith McEacharn, and daughter-in-law, Susan Elizabeth McEacharn along with many grandkids, great grandkids, and wonderful friends.
Betty is now at peace and happy to be with her husband and son that she has missed so much.
There will be a graveside service on Saturday, May 16th at 2 pm at Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington TX.
