Archie was born August 3, 1939 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Charles D. and Mary Miller Waites. He was longtime member of Field Street Baptist Church and retired from Port Terminal Railroad.
Preceded in death by his parents and bride of 31 yrs, Cherie Waites.
Survived by his Sister, Laura Ramsey, Brother, Richard "Butch" Waites, Children: Paul Waites and wife Barbara with daughter Brittni, Lisa Hall with daughter Chelsea, Todd Waites and wife Diana, with daughter Erin Machen and son Carter Waites, Kendra Felske and husband Doug with their children, Adam, Ethan and Hannah Felske, John Powell and wife Cindy, their children, John Jr. and Jennifer Lynch, Mark Powell and wife Sharon their children April and Andy; great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, dear Friends: Bob and Mary Risinger, Rhonda and Glen Whitwell, Bob & Mary Spencer, and Foxie (their dog); among many, many others!
