A private committal service will be held at Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 N. Davis Dr, Arlington, 76012.
Angelo, known to his friends as Tony, was born January 15, 1927 in Niagara Falls, New York to Vincenzo and Antoinette Morinello. He graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1944 where he was a football star and student council vice president. After graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Spokane, Washington during WWII.
After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he immediately enlisted in the Air Force. Tony was accepted to the United States Air Force Cadet Aviation training program at Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo, Texas and completed Navigation Cadet Class at Ellington AFB in Houston, Texas.
During his time in the Air Force, Tony flew 38 bombardier missions during the Korean War. He flew a B-29 aircraft named "No Sweat" in the 93rd Bomb Squadron. "No Sweat" was shot down by a MiG, crash landed in Korea, and was rescued. Tony was awarded the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster and the Korean Campaign Ribbons with three battle stars.
After combat, Tony was an instructor at the United States Air Force Academy where he taught Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was stationed at Cape Canaveral where he was an integral part of the Gemini Space Missions. At the later part of his career, Tony worked at the Pentagon for several years. He retired from the Air Force after 20 years of dedicated service.
After retiring from the Air Force, Tony joined IBM, focusing on manufacturing and international marketing. He retired from IBM after a very successful 20 year long career.
Following his passion for stocks and investments, Tony completed his certification to become a certified financial planner.
Tony was a world traveler, a gourmet cook, and a master Bridge player. He was also a Mercedes Benz enthusiast and a wine connoisseur.
Tony was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Bobbye Ruth Mills Morinello; son, Vincent Morinello; parents, Vincenzo and Antoinette Morinello; and sister, Vincenette Ryan.
Survivors: daughter, Lisa Ann Morinello; son, Paul Robert Morinello; grandchildren, Brittany, Trent, and Jacqueline Morgan; sisters, Carmella Farina and Rosalie O'Neil and husband, Ken; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
