Alvaro Martinez Jr.

Alvaro Martinez, Jr., age 63 of Arlington, a loyal and loving son, brother, uncle, father and friend, passed away at his home on June 7, 2019. He was born on July 15, 1955 in Muskegon, Michigan, the son of Alvaro Martinez, Sr. and Rosa Cervera Martinez. Alvaro is survived by his daughter Steffani Vera; brother, Peter Martinez; 3 sisters, Aurora Martinez, Elisa Martinez, and Rita Martinez; Special friends, Herbert Keener and Barry 'Pete' Stafford; and extended family and friends.

He attended Muskegon High School and graduated from Central Michigan University in 1978 with a degree in Business Administration. Alvaro worked for AT&T and had been a dedicated employee for over 30 years. He was a proud member of Communications Workers of America. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching and playing basketball. He loved his family, friends, and dog, Misty, very much and will be missed by many. Alaro was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Arlington and is now with his savior. He loved his family, friends, and dog, Misty, very much and will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his father, Alvaro Martinez Sr., mother, Rosa Cervera Martinez, and 2 sisters, Rosita Martinez and Gloria Martinez.

A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 5819 W Pleasant Ridge Rd., Arlington.

A memorial mass will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Flowers may be sent.
