William K. Kopp was born January 6, 1932 in Kewanee, IL Louis and Jennie (nee Bartman) Kopp. He died March 26, 2022 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
Bill graduated from Valparaiso University where he played football and was a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity. After graduation, he started teaching in Fischer Illinois where he started the football program. He later taught 14 years for districts 62 and 214 where he was one of the original faculty members at Hersey High School. After teaching, William worked 25 years in Education Sales for Silver Burdett and Ginn. Bill had a love for the outdoors. As a young boy he was an Eagle Scout and later a Scout Master for 14 yrs. He shared his passion for the outdoors by organizing student fishing trips to Canada. He was a member of the Richmond Hunt Club, where he enjoyed weekends in the field with his prized Brittany Spaniels. Bill enjoyed officiating youth athletics, a 50 year member of the IHSA. Bill and his team were rewarded by officiating state championship games. He was long time member of Faith Lutheran Church where he was the Sunday School Superintendent as well as a member of the Mens Club.
William is survived by his wife Patricia (nee White) Kopp; his children Kimberly Kopp and William B. (Patrina Dean) Kopp; his grandchildren William L. and Madison S. and by his brothers Dennis E. (Linda) Kopp and Kennard B. (Nancy) Kopp.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation Thursday, April 7, 2022 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights and Friday at Faith Lutheran Church, 431 S. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights from 9:00 am until the time of funeral service at 10:00 am. Interment Memory Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Faith Lutheran Church.
