Walter "Wally" Lesser was born on June 3, 1947 in Brooklyn, NY to Chester and Gertrude (nee Smith) Lesser. He died Tuesday, May 23, 2017 in Arlington Heights.

Wally worked as a Quality Assurance Manager for Steris Co. in Libertyville. He previously worked at Baxter International, American Red Cross & Respiratory Care Inc. where he and Mary met. He was a member of the American Society of Quality. He was an avid fan of Formula 1 auto racing, hockey, fishing, hiking and camping at the National Parks and the New York Giants. Wally loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and was loved by all.

Walter is survived by his spouse, of 40 years, Mary (nee Gallagher) children, Colleen (Eric) Borchardt and Brian Lesser; grandsons, Ian Borchardt and Alec Borchardt; brother, Stuart J. (Geraldine) Lesser; several nieces and nephews; and aunt, Doris Martin.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation Saturday, May 27, 2017 from 1:00 pm until the 3:00 pm Funeral Service at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd. (4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Interment is private.
