Sylvannus Peter Dykstra Jr, formerly of Wisconsin and Palatine, was born on May 12, 1942, and passed away March 31, 2025. Peter was the beloved husband of the late Gayle (nee Anderson) Dykstra; loving father of Jay (Kristi) Dykstra, Jason Dykstra and Jeff (Sara) Dykstra and the late Michael Dykstra; daring grandfather of Jakob, Annika, Cleidy, Alondra and Evan; dear great grandfather of Johantis and Gurleen; fond brother of John Dykstra and Doug Dykstra.
Peter attended Palatine High School and went on to graduate from Wentworth Military Academy; after which he served his country in the United States Army. After his years in the Army, he went on to attend the University of Illinois Chicago -School of Architecture. He went on to a career in architecture for over 25 years.
