He died Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights.Before retiring Mr. Cygan was a machinist for Duro Metals where he worked for 35 years and only took three sick days off from work.He was a 3rd Degree member of Our Lady of the Grove, Knights of Columbus Council #13448 and served as an usher at St. Mary Parish.Robert is survived by children, Joseph T. (Xiaorong) Cygan" and Carolynn (Richard) Wojtowicz; his grandchildren, Zach Wojtowicz, Luke Wojtowicz, Jessica Y. Cygan, Matthew Wojtowicz, Michelle Wojtowicz and James H. Tao; his great grandchildren, Chelsea Wojtowicz and Clementine Billingham; his brother James Cygan; his brother-in-law Robert (Patricia) Brajcki; and he was the fond uncle and cousin of many.He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth; his parents; his sister, Dorothy (Ben) Maday; and his brother-in-law Victor Brajcki Jr.Visitation from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Monday, March 14, 2016 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N.
