Loving and Beloved Grandfather of 23 Grandchildren: Kimberly, Katherine, Matthew, James; Lynne, Tom, Tim: John, Katie, Dan; Kristin, Nicholas, Brandon; Sarah, Michael; Nicole, Tiffany, Joseph, Michael, David; Amy, Bobby and Kelly. Loving, Beloved Great Grandfather of 28 Great Grandchildren and a few more due this year.
Preceded in death are his Parents: Peter A Spiekerman and Sophie (Skamierski) Spiekerman of Chicago Illinois. Siblings: Mrs. JoAnn (Spiekerman) (the late Edward) Morrison and the late Rev. Robert Spiekerman. Loving, Beloved Uncle and Great Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He was a faithful Catholic who prayed his Holy Rosary daily. He will be missed greatly. We will always treasure the time we had with him.
He enlisted in the US Army and was an US Army Sergeant who served in the Korean War, was awarded a medal with four Bronze Stars (Korean service), Medals (Japan), Leadership and Good Conduct, several years.
He was a retired Daily News/Suntimes trusted food ad salesman. He pursued a degree in Journalism through Northwestern University, Chicago.
Visitation will be Friday, January 17, 2025 from 10:00 AM until time of the Funeral Mass at 11:OO AM at Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, 440 S. Mitchell, Arlington Heights, IL 60005. Christian Burial will be graveside at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery in Palatine, IL.
