Kathy and family, As the one year anniversary approaches, I know many memories will be going through all your minds and the huge void in your lives present.  I hope you all know that you are still near and dear in thoughts of others.

I learned just this morning that my dearest friend was a recipient of God's Grace thru the heart of Peter Volz. He shoveled her snow. He did it without being asked and turned on sunshine in  dreary days.  I thank God for Peter's gift of life and for his  sharing it so graciously with my dear friend ... and now may God be with you as you travel on. Sincerely,

I just read about Pete's passing when leafing thru a newspaper at lunch in Rosemont the other day.  I am so sorry you and the kids have lost such a great man.  I truly enjoyed the 5 years in which we worked (and golfed) together at LB, beginning with the training program there.  I was always very proud of Pete for all he accomplished--I know you were, too.  Such a gentleman with a great sense of humor! My sympathies are with you and your children and grandchildren at this time. As one of Pete's International colleagues at Leo Burnett, I was deeply saddened to hear the news. No one captured and practiced the values and spirit of the agency more than Pete and as such he was an inspirational leader to all of us with whom he worked.  After working hours he was the best of pals who could never do enough for his friends.  Please accept my deepest sympathy.

Condolences to Kathy, daughters, & son. Played football, basketball, & baseball together from 5th grade-HS. He was our QB, G-F, OF, & always team leader, in additon to academic leader-Salutatorian '66. Natural evolution he would be a business leader, wonderful husband & father. I called BJ Pierce to wish him a happy 89th BD and Dave Smith had called him already.  He subscribes to the Frankfort Times.  I went on line to obtain details.

What a shock.  Pete is a younger cousin by 13 years and for many years, the only time we met was at a family funeral in Frankfort.  The last being in September of
2009.  He looked healthy as a horse.

My deepest sympathy to Pete's family.  I remember working for him many times while filling in for his secretary at Leo Burnett - it was always a pleasure.  He was a very classy man.  So sorry for your loss.

Kathy, Dave called Uncle Bob Pierce and I this morning to tell us of Pete's death.  Kathy, I have always looked up to Pete and to you.  I still remember our visits to his house when we were young, and our family gatherings at Grandma Volz's with fondness.  He was so much fun...great to be a little girl and observe Dave and he and their witty (at least they thought so) repartee!  At Aunt Eloise's funeral, we talked only about you, the kids and grandkids and he shone with love for you all.  Please accept my deepest condolences and know that you are in my prayers.

My condolences on Pete's passing.  Pete and I played Babe Ruth and high school baseball together at Frankfort.  He could chase 'em down in centerfield!!  He was always a positive and kind person.

Kathy, I just heard today of Pete's passing.  He has always been one of my favorite people even though we only met again a few times after childhood together in Frankfort.    Each time we met again, it was like no time had passed since the last, and we just picked up where we left off like cousins should do.  You and the family are in our thoughts.

And more than most, Pete Volz was one of those.

I first met Pete in 6th grade at South Side grade school in Frankfort and went on and graduated with him.  I am sadden that someone still in his prime and has been taken from us.  I have lost track of many of my classmates, but still feel the loss.  Deepest sympathy to his family.

It was an honor to have worked for Pete so early in my career. He was a superb leader and someone I admired very much. My heart goes out to his family, friends, and the Leo Burnett community he touched over the years for this sudden loss.

Having worked with Pete and then for Pete, I can honestly say he was a great boss and moreso a wonderful person.  He just called me a couple of weeks ago and I'm so thankful to have had that conversation.  He was so talkative about his loving family and enjoying the time he was getting to spend with you all.  He was so proud of his family and the grandchildren were certainly a treasure in his life of retirement.

I cannot tell you how devastated I was to hear about Pete.   He was a special friend and colleague.   He would often plop down in my office and talked of you and the children and what a joy you were in his life. I know he felt the same about his grandbabies.
