Peter Kourtis

Peter Kourtis was born June 23, 1932 in Petrina-Sparti, Greece to Panagiotis and Demetra Kourtis." He died June 22, 2016 at his home in Arlington Heights.Peter immigrated to Toronto, Ontario Canada in1957. There he met and married his devoted wife, Frances. They moved to the Chicago area and together worked side by side to build multiple restaurant businesses. Peter loved his family, lively political discussions over coffee, and thought everything tasted better with olive oil from his hometown. He was a member of the Tuesday Morning Breakfast Club in Arlington Heights.Peter is survived by his wife Frances (nee Vassos) Kourtis; his children Peter Kourtis and Toula (Grayson Lipton) Kourtis; his grandchildren Cameron and Zachary Lipton; his siblings Louis Kourtis (Pauline), John Kourtis, Stella Bayiokos (Peter), Jim Kourtis (Wilma) and Spiro Kourtis (Sandra) and by many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.His loving parents, Panagiotis and Demetra, precede Peter in death.Visitation Sunday from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights." Funeral service 11:00 AM Monday at Saints Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 1401 Wagner Road, Glenview, IL 60025."
