Nancy Alford Panganiban passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 7, 2019 due to breast cancer.
Nancy was born on June 10, 1947 in Albany, NY to Charles and Evelyn (nee Webster) Alford. Nancy is survived by her children, Paul (Kayce) Alford, Ana (Tim) Costello and Leah Panganiban; grandchildren, Claire, Ben, Ted and Grace Costello and Caroline, Charlotte and Savannah Alford. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Nancy’s life was dedicated to caring for others--her family, her friends and her patients. She was a nurse and spent several years working in hospice. Nancy was always willing to lend a helping hand and found great joy and satisfaction in supporting others.
She cherished spending time with her family, especially her seven grandchildren. They loved that she would always play card games, create craft projects and give them sweet treats! Whenever her grandchildren performed in a concert, played in a sporting event or were celebrated in any way, Nana was there beaming with pride.
Nance (as she was known by many) was a loyal and caring friend. She was blessed with a large network of friends from all stages of her life and enjoyed visiting and catching up with them.
Nancy was a member of Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church in Arlington Heights, IL. She loved working Election Day, buying gifts for others and Villanova basketball. She also enjoyed traveling, time at the beach and reading.
An 11:00 am Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, 440 South Mitchell, Arlington Heights, IL 60005. Interment is private.
A celebration of life will be held in Delmar, NY in the spring/summer.
