

Nada D. Kostovich was born on November 26, 1922, in Chicago, Illinois, to Joseph and
Catherine (nee Pernecki) Pripusich. She peacefully passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021, surrounded by her family.
Nada and her family were long time members of St. Jerome Croatian Parish. She attended St. Mary’s Perpetual Help High School, graduating in 1941. Nada was a “Rosie the Riveter” during the war effort as she worked at Link Belt defense plant in Chicago. She was a licensed beautician during her years of raising her children. Nada worked as an accounts receivable clerk for Ace Hardware Corporate Office in Oak Brook for her last 12 working years, prior to retiring. She was a lifetime member of Weight Watchers and enjoyed sharing nutritious recipes she discovered, with her family and friends. Nada was also a member of St. Edna’s Crochet Club, an organization dedicated to crocheting prayer shawls for the elderly and terminally ill patients, and baby blankets for those in need. She enjoyed crocheting and created blankets not only for each and every family member (including future great-grandchildren), but for anyone else who requested one. She loved helping others and was very much known for her strong religious beliefs and her attitude of gratitude. Nada loved spending time with her family and friends, she was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Nada is survived by her children: Nada Jayne (Dave) Misunas, John J. Kostovich, Kathy Roepke (Kurt Schreiber), Donna (Ian) Cohen, Mary (Mike) Riley, and Joy (Mike) Matella; she is the cherished grandmother to 18 grandchildren; dear great-grandmother to 17 great-grandchildren; and beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews. Nada was the sole survivor of nine siblings; she is the beloved extended family to Christine Dermatis, Dean Roepke, and her cherished caregivers, Nataliya Hubska and Bimmy Agboola.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Kostovich; son, Joseph Kostovich; her parents; and eight siblings.
Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 9:00 am until time of Memorial Mass at 10:00 am at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois 60004.
